This book is the English translation of “Introduction à la psychologie de l’affectivitè et à l’éducation à l’amour” originally written by C Gattegno in 1950, translated by Barbara Weiskrantz BA in 1962. This book presents a discussion on the psychological and spiritual changes affecting adolescents throughout their change into adulthood. At the time of printing there had been a demand for books which could shed a new light on the ‘problems of adolescence…..so closely linked with those of juvenile delinquency’. ( C Gattegno, Foreword page 1). This book is the written form of Gattegno’s investigations which took place in International Seminars in Western Europe. It is also informed by his own experiences as an adolescent.
